SYMPTOM:

Human errors, committed during data entry, are manifold.  Some examples are errors of ommissions and transpositions. Any error - made in the Masters - will have side-effects on the rest of the System.

In PERKS, often, different aspects of Leave Heads happen to be quite common. Although, the Leave Rules are bound to differ, various attributes (as observed on the main page of a Leave definition) often happen to be similar.

Therefore, it is quite natural that, the System should offer an option to alleviate the repetitive effort.

RESOLUTION:

The System, indeed, offers an option to cater to your need. On the main page of 'Leave Definition' window (titled New - leave details), you will find a check box towards the bottom of the window. This checkbox is captioned as Store as Default. Turn on this check box.

Next time, when you create a new Head of Leave, you will observe that the System has already inserted certain attributes, by default. The Settings of these attributes would follow the Leave Head for which you marked the Store as Default check box.

Thus, the concerned Leave Head will be remembered by the System as a 'template' for definition of other Leave Heads.
